Vision
" Study the context and process of shaving one's head with a razor in order to identify design interventions"
Research - Task analysis
Finding opportunity areas and noticing the micro and macro-level interaction involved in the process of shaving...

Observations.
1. Shaving certain areas are tricky and puts the hand in an unnatural position, oftenly slowing down the process and demanding more attention.
2. Throughout the process razor is held in multiple interesting ways to gain better control , and some of these grips are prone to slip increasing the chances of nicks and cuts.
3. Achieving a smooth close shave requires the shaving process to be repeated twice, once along the grain and the other against. With the conventional razor, the process demands time and a constant change in grip.
Design brief
" Design a razor that enhances the experience of shaving by increasing safety and reducing time for those who shave their heads regularly "
Ideation.
Sketch models.
Rough models made out of high-density thermacol enabled the testing and interaction to finalize and further refine the concept.
Concept - RUSH
Rush is a razor concept inspired by the back and forth stroking action of a brush on canvas.
The bulbous form provides adequate freedom and grip to be held as per the comfort of the user.
Double-sided blade
The double-sided blades are faced in opposite directions which enables the brush stroke motion.
This in turn makes it convenient and quick to cover the entire surface of the head without having to change the grip on the razor.
Prototyping.
Developing and testing forms of multiple shapes, sizes, and proportions best suited to perform the task.

Bi-directional blades
Rush has 2 sets of 3 blades facing in the opposite direction, allowing the user to perform a back and forth action similar to that of painting with a brush.
Pivot spring.
When the razor is stroked against the skin, it pivots with the help of a small spring(a thin strip of steel) allowing the user to perform a comfortable stroking motion.
The back and forth motion enables the shaving process to be done quickly and without having to change the grip.
Sliding head.
Change the razor head once the blades are dull by sliding in a new cartridge.
The through and through-hole let the cut hair flow out easily, unclogging the blades.
